Getting to Orlando & Getting Around
Facts checked October 27, 2026
Orlando International (MCO) is the main airport for the theme-park corridor. International Drive has its own trolley; most visitors still rent a car for Disney, Kissimmee airboats or Kennedy Space Center.

Do you need a car?
On International Drive: optional. The I-Ride Trolley runs daily 8:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m.; the Red Line is about every 20 minutes and the Green Line about every 45 minutes, with cash fares from $2.00 per ride and multi-day passes sold off the trolley (International Drive Orlando).
For Disney, Kissimmee airboats and Kennedy Space Center: yes, or a booked transfer/tour. MCO’s own page lists LYNX service to several tourist-area stops, but a rental car (or a day-trip product with transport) is the usual way to reach Merritt Island or the fish camps.
Renting a car
If you do rent, compare the airport desks in one search rather than booking the first brand you see, and check what the rate includes (tolls, extra drivers, mileage) before you pay.
Airport transfer
Welcome Pickups has a Orlando page for pre-booked airport rides; the page lists flight monitoring for delays, 24/7 customer support and flexible cancellation (checked October 27, 2026). It’s worth comparing with a taxi or rideshare if you land late, travel with kids, or just want the ride sorted before you fly.
Luggage storage
Radical Storage lists Orlando drop-off spots (city page checked Oct 25, 2026), including tourist-corridor and mall-area options. Confirm the map pin before you book.
Mobile data (eSIM)
An eSIM is handy if you want data on arrival without hunting for a SIM shop or relying only on hotel Wi‑Fi. Airalo sells prepaid United States data plans you can install before you fly — confirm your phone supports eSIM and that the plan covers the days you need.
I-Ride Trolley
Tiqets sells I-Ride Trolley tickets for the International Drive corridor (product page checked Oct 25, 2026). Handy if you’d rather buy online before you arrive; the official I-Ride page also sells multi-day passes.
Attraction pass
Go City’s Orlando Essentials Pass has you pick Kennedy Space Center, LEGOLAND Florida, or SeaWorld Orlando plus two more attractions from its top 15, with 30 days from activation to use them. Explorer and All-Inclusive options are also listed. The included list covers places like Gatorland, ICON Park’s Orlando Eye, Fun Spot and airboat tours (Go City, checked Oct 25, 2026). It does not replace a Disney World or Universal ticket — price your own list before you buy.
