Affiliate disclosure

Compass City Guides is free to read. We pay for it through affiliate links: some “book” buttons go to Viator or GetYourGuide, and lodging buttons go through Stay22, all with a tracking code. If you book through one of those links, the booking site pays us a commission, typically a small percentage of the booking, after your tour or stay takes place. You pay the same price as you would going to the site directly.

• Affiliate buttons are labeled with the site name (“on Viator,” “on GetYourGuide”). Every page with affiliate links carries a short disclosure line just before the first one, and every page links to this disclosure in its footer.
• Lodging links: hotel, vacation-rental and cabin buttons go through Stay22, a lodging affiliate network, which forwards you to one of its partner booking sites: Vrbo, Booking.com or Expedia. Each button names the site you’ll land on (for example “on Vrbo”). If you book a stay, we may earn a commission; the price is the same. We don’t rank individual hotels or rentals, and no property pays to appear.
• Our own printable planners: we also sell a few printable trip planners of our own through Payhip. Those links are not affiliate links; if you buy one, the money comes to us directly. They’re always labeled as our own product.
• Travelpayouts: every page also loads a script from Travelpayouts, a travel affiliate network, which can turn some travel links and keywords into affiliate links for its partner brands (for example flight, hotel, car-rental and tour booking sites) and add travel recommendation boxes. Bookings made through those links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Our “Getting there & getting around” guides may also link directly to Travelpayouts partner brands (flight search, car rental, airport transfers, luggage storage and attraction passes); those buttons are affiliate links.
• Links to operators’, attractions’ and event organizers’ own websites are plain links. We earn nothing from them, and we include them whenever booking direct is the better or only option.
• No operator pays for placement, ranking, or coverage. We have not received free tours.
• Prices and schedules change. Each guide shows the date we last checked it; the booking page always has the final word.
