Road trips
Facts checked November 1, 2026
Several of our destinations are a drive apart. These routes link them: drive legs with miles and times, what to see on the way, one place-to-stay search per overnight stop, the rental-car pickup that fits, and the tours from our city guides that suit each stop.
- St. Augustine → Savannah → Charleston: Three historic Southern cities in five days: about 283 miles of driving, two easy legs.
- Orlando → Key West (Overseas Highway): Turnpike to Key Largo, then 113 miles and 42 bridges of Overseas Highway to the end of US-1.
- Las Vegas → Hoover Dam → Grand Canyon South Rim: Hoover Dam on the way out, a night in Williams, a full day on the South Rim.
- Nashville → Gatlinburg → Blue Ridge: Music City to the Smokies, then over Newfound Gap to the North Georgia mountains.
Drive times come from OpenStreetMap routing with no traffic or stops; every route page links each leg so you can re-check it. One-way rental drop fees vary, so check them at booking.
