Do you need a car?
On the Strip / downtown: usually no. RTC’s Deuce runs 24/7 along the Strip and to downtown Fremont; visitor Strip & All Access fares are $4 single ride / $6 for 2 hours / $8 for 24 hours / $20 for 3 days (RTC fares page, checked Oct 27, 2026). The Las Vegas Monorail has seven Strip stations (hours on lvmonorail.com).
For day trips: optional. Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon West are driveable, but most visitors book a coach or small-group tour (see our Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam guide) instead of navigating parking and timed entries alone.
Renting a car
If you do rent, compare the airport desks in one search rather than booking the first brand you see, and check what the rate includes (tolls, extra drivers, mileage) before you pay.
Airport transfer
Welcome Pickups has a Las Vegas page for pre-booked airport rides; the page lists flight monitoring for delays, 24/7 customer support and flexible cancellation (checked October 27, 2026). It’s worth comparing with a taxi or rideshare if you land late, travel with kids, or just want the ride sorted before you fly.
Luggage storage
Radical Storage lists Las Vegas drop-off spots (city page pattern used across Compass cities). Confirm the map pin before you book.
Mobile data (eSIM)
An eSIM is handy if you want data on arrival without hunting for a SIM shop or relying only on hotel Wi‑Fi. Airalo sells prepaid United States data plans you can install before you fly — confirm your phone supports eSIM and that the plan covers the days you need.
