Grand Canyon West & Hoover Dam Day Trips
Prices & schedules checked October 27, 2026
Most first-timers day-tripping from Las Vegas go to Grand Canyon West (Hualapai Tribe land; not the National Park’s South Rim) and/or Hoover Dam on Lake Mead. Driving yourself is doable; coach and small-group tours remove parking and timing stress. Helicopter products leave from Strip / Boulder City terminals and cost more — we link only listings we could verify by product ID.
Viator and GetYourGuide prices change often, so we don’t quote them: the booking buttons open the live listing, where you’ll see today’s price, times and cancellation terms. Facts on this page come from the operators’ own sites and verified catalog titles.

West Rim vs South Rim (don’t mix them up)
- Grand Canyon West is the closest rim to Las Vegas and the one most “day trip from Vegas” coaches serve. Skywalk is here. It is not Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim.
- South Rim (Grand Canyon National Park) is a much longer day (often 12–14+ hours round-trip) or an overnight. If a listing says “National Park” or “South Rim,” read the itinerary carefully before you book.
Back in town the same evening? Pair a late High Roller ride — see Strip & downtown sightseeing — or save the canyon day and do our one-day Strip plan instead.
